Allow Me to Introduce Myself!

Allow Me to Introduce Myself!

First and foremost, I would like to say, “Welcome to Kristen’s Corner”! At Kristen’s Corner, you will be guided through the arts and craft world by your very own Towels & Home guru! Now, for those of you wondering who Kristen is, here is my story…

Right from the start, I had demonstrated my creative genes in any way that I could. It all started with Magic Marker murals on my living room wall at the mere age of three. Shortly after, I realized that baby brothers were actually good for something, as I learned that I had a true knack for body art. By the age of ten, I had spent a significant amount of time as my parents’ shadow, reading off my list of interior design tweaks for our home. They were successful in having me channel this creativity toward re-doing my own bedroom, however, this was only a short-term distraction that occurred once every few years. Fortunately for everyone, it was eventually time for me to move onto the next chapter of my life – college.

I ventured off to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Go Illini!), where I learned to perfect my next craft, which was writing. Majoring in Communication, I was fortunate to be able to polish a variety of communication tools, both verbal and written. It did not take long for me to realize the excitement that commenced as soon as I put a pen to paper. While my peers groaned and complained as writing assignments were distributed, I was mentally creating an outline for the paper as they spoke. After four of the shortest years of my life, a few weeks of looking at pictures and battling nostalgia, it was time to start my next adventure, which led me to Towels & Home.

Towels & Home has given me the opportunity of a lifetime to utilize all of my creative passions in one place. Although the job description does not entail body art on my co-workers or Magic Marker murals of flour sack towels on the office wall, it includes managing Kristen’s Corner. Together, we will further explore my passions, as well as yours, one blog post at a time!
