PRINTING & DESIGN SERVICES

Use our Design Studio to make a layout or place sample unit orders.

IN-HOUSE DTG PRINTING

We offer in-house DTG (Direct-to-Garment) digital printing on our towels and other cotton products! We print in full color except in white ink (any white will be transparent when printed). We can print a max size of 16” x 18”. We recommend printing in the center bottom half of the towels so the towels can be folded in thirds (tri-fold).

Because of this max size restriction, we can not do all-over (edge-to-edge) printing on most of our larger towels. Depending on your design, we may be able to do multiple print areas to maximize the coverage on the towel or check out our smaller towel sizes: 18″ x 22″, 15″ x 25″ or 20″ x 20″ towels.

Our max print size capability is 16″ x 18″.  You will need to determine what the best print size is for your design depending on what size product you are printing on and how you want it to look. It is best to think about how you plan on folding, displaying or packaging your towels when determining print size and location. 

TIP: Because we price based on ink volume used per design, larger or more saturated art can have a higher print price than smaller, lighter colored art. If you want to reduce your towel price, think about how you can utilize the size and colors of your design. You only pay for what you use!

Our DTG printers print in full color except white. No white in your art will print but will be transparent. You can leave a white background in your art as long as it is pure white. Any areas of your art that is not pure white will show up in the printing.

DTG printing does not allow for exact color matching or pantone color matching. We print the artwork as it is given (no manipulation of colors). We cannot guarantee how the colors will turn out on a file. We recommend ordering sample prints first if a close color match is needed. 

Printing on natural (beige) or any colored fabrics can result in the colors of your art printing a different shade. This is because we do not use a white underbase. We recommend darker color shades to be used on colored fabrics to give it the best chance of showing true. 

Please e-mail us your image as large as possible for your quote request or order request. Please title your art file with the image name and version if needed. 

We recommend your art file be at least 300dpi resolution and sent in the size dimensions that you want it printed in. If we have to enlarge the art by a lot, the resolution will decrease. For example, if you want us to print a 12″ tall image, the image you send us should be at least 12″ tall, otherwise, print quality might go down. 

  • BEST: PNG image files are preferable because they keep the transparencies of the image. Vector art which can be provided in an EPS, AI, or PSD files. 
  • OK: JPG, PDF

When you create the file for direct-to-garment printing, you’ll want to use RGB color settings. Illustrator (vector) files with strokes or fonts should be expanded to outlines before you do any resizing, while Photoshop (raster) files will need to be set to 300dpi or higher at the size you want them printed.

Art should have either a transparent or pure white background. Need help removing a background – let us know!

If you are building a design using the Design Studio, you must save it as a layout by using the save icon in the bottom right corner. Create a design account if you don’t have one. This is a different account than our main website account. If you do not need to use the Designer’s tools, you can request a quote with this form and attach your artwork file.

Quotes can also be requested through email: info@cottoncreations.com. To get you the most accurate quote, please attach your design/logo file to the email and let us know the size/placement and product choice you want the quote on. 

Our turnaround time (order-to-ship) can depend on the time of year and is estimated. It is best to ask at your time of order and if you need something by a specific date, please let us know before an order is placed.

Wholesale order estimates (depending on qty):

  • Jan-July: 2-3 weeks for wholesale orders
  • August-Dec: 3-4 weeks for wholesale order. Larger orders may be 4-5 weeks. 
  • Sample prints/small orders: 2-6 business days

Fall is our busiest time of the year. We recommend ordering holiday goods as early as possible to avoid longer turnaround times.

Rush services:

Please note that RUSH services are only available as permitted by the production schedule and will be assessed at the time of ordering. Rush service is the only way to guarantee a product needed by a certain date under 1 week. The fee does not include any shipping label upgrades if needed. 

The cost for this service is as follows:

  • +30% Surcharge ($50.00 minimum), 5-6 business days
  • +50% Surcharge ($100.00 minimum), 3-4 business days
  • +100% Surcharge ($150.00 minimum), 24-48 hours

Your towels are pressed, folded in half and shipped in a box. To have us fold your order a specific way (such as a tri-fold), please let us know at time of order. 

We can add custom packaging to your order for a per unit price that varies depending on the application! We can apply bands, stickers, hangers, etc. and/or polybag in sets or individuals. Reach out today with your idea and we can help bring it to life!

PRICING

When ordering printed products, the 
Total Per Unit Price = Blank Product Price + Printing Price

Blank Product Pricing is based on what product and what quantity per order total. Most of the towels discount at 10, 50, 250, 1000 units. Other products may discount at different intervals. 

Print Pricing is based on the quantity per design. Each design will have it’s own print pricing tiers (2, 6, 11, 24, 51, 101, 201, 301, 501, 1001 units per design). We have standardized print prices for orders under 50 units and design specific print pricing for orders of  50+ units per design. 

We calculate your custom printing price by the amount of ink volume your specific design or logo will use. Therefore, we do need your design file to calculate your custom printing price.

When sending print-ready art, there are several important steps to ensure a smooth process:

  1. Communication:

    • Clearly communicate your requirements, including the size, dimensions, and any specific details or preferences you have for the customization.
  2. File Format:

    • Ensure that your artwork is in a print-ready file format. Common formats include vector (.AI) , or high-resolution PNG.
  3. Resolution:

    • Check the resolution of your artwork. For print, it’s recommended to have a resolution of at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) to ensure high-quality prints.
  4. Color Accuracy:

    • DTG printing cannot color match and variation in colors will happen. We cannot guarantee or guess how a color may print. We suggest getting a sample unit first if you are worried about color shade issues. Please communicate with us if you are expecting an exact color match so we can help. Provide any specific PMS colors or references if necessary.

All customers located outside Illinois automatically get tax-free orders once you enter an address at checkout. We have no minimum order requirement and shipping rates are based on weight/distance, so we recommend ordering samples first if possible!
