DIY Custom Candle Design
How To Make a Custom Candle Design
One of the surest signs that winter is coming, is walking into a house full of candles. To some, the colder weather and winter months aren’t something that’s looked forward to. I’m one of these people. There’s nothing better than coming inside from the cold fall breeze, to a few lit candles, giving my home an instant toasty feel. Sure, it’s great to buy beautifully scented candles from the store, but it’s even more fun to have candles on display that fit perfectly in your own home!
With this project, you’re not only creating something to give your home that warm and cozy touch, you’re creating a unique piece of home decor! Between the limited amount of supplies needed for this craft, along with the ease it takes to create it, you’ll have countless candles created in no time!
Supplies:
- Tissue paper or paper napkins
- Heat embossing tool or a hair dryer
- Paper cutter
- Scissors
- Wax paper
- Pins
Instructions:
Step 1: Cut the tissue paper (or napkin) into the design that you desire using either the paper cutter or scissors.
Step 2: Place your design around the candle and secure it using the pins.
Step 3: Wrap a piece of wax paper around the entire candle, making sure to cover your design completely.
Step 4: Heat the candle with a hair dryer or the heat embossing tool. Once the wax paper gets shiny, move onto another spot of the candle. Continue this process until the entire candle surface has the shiny look.
Step 5: Remove the wax paper and pins.
Step 6: Light your candle and take a step back to admire your work!
